Recently, there have been several incidents of stray dogs injuring people in Curaçao. The Consulate General of China in Willemstad specifically reminds Chinese citizens in the consular district to be vigilant against stray dogs on the streets and in the suburbs, not to tease or chase them, and to calmly and slowly walk around them if encountered to avoid injury.
If you are unfortunately scratched or bitten by a stray dog, you are advised that immediate emergency measures should be taken: First, wash the wound with running water and soap for at least 15 minutes, then disinfect it with iodine solution. Do not bandage or cover the wound. Then go to a regular hospital as soon as possible for professional treatment.
